Cognitive Behavioural Therapy & Solution Focused Therapy
CBT or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is the scientifically proven gold standard method used by psychologists and counsellor.
CBT is mostly used for Anxiety disorders, Depression, PTSD and OCD however it also has been proven useful for insomnia, eating disorders, substance use disorders and chronic pain.
The theory behind CBT is that everything starts in your mind with your thoughts, that is - you have the free will to decide which thoughts influence you.
Once you accept them, they then become emotions which make you feel a certain way and your behaviour is then automatically influenced as you act them out, leading to real negative consequences.
Evidence Base: CBT’s efficacy is supported by extensive randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and meta-analyses, making it the most empirically validated psychotherapy.
SFT or Solution Focused Therapy is a light but also highly effective therapeutic method that relies on positive psychology - the strengths you already have.
SFT is used to examine what your coping methods are like, what is working for you and aims to strengthen that along with goal setting that you are fully in control of.
These new goals are developed by you, as you lead the way to create a new and updated way of seeing yourself thrive in future.
SFBT was found to have strong evidence for its effectiveness across a wide range of behavioral and psychological outcomes, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and relationship issues.
Depending on what suits your particular situation, I'll be using either or a combination of these methods tailored to you.
